Hello and welcome to my new website. For years, I’ve studied, written and taught on a range of topics revolving around three central research interests: African American religion, African American humanism and theological issues involving the body. At times coming together and at other times distinct, these issues have led to 28 monographs and edited volumes.
It is my hope that this website can be a clearing house of sorts for the ideas presented in my books, while also encouraging further reading and study. You’ll also note the section dedicated to the study of African American religion at Rice University.
Here you’ll find articles, videos and links to various resources for humanism and the study of religion, along with information about the program at Rice. So again welcome, look around a bit, and all the best.
